Table Read & Screening - Ilakkiyakurangugal Book Club

Join us for a warm afternoon of reading, screening, and conversation as we explore the short story "அமுதாவும் அவனும் (Amuthavum Avanum)" written by சுஜாதா (Sujatha), alongside selected scenes from the movie "கன்னத்தில் முத்தமிட்டால் (Kannathil Muthamittal)", directed by Mani Ratnam.

This time, we’ll look at how Sujatha’s story comes alive on screen, exploring its writing, characters and ideas alongside the movie's interpretation of them.

Together, we’ll read selected portions of the story, watch key scenes from the movie, and discuss what has changed, what has remained, and how the choices of the director, actors and other technicians shape our understanding of the story.
