Sura is a social enterprise and NGO based in rural Cuddalore, Tamil Nadu, that empowers local women through the production of handmade lifestyle products. Born in 2017 out of a collective effort by mothers seeking to fund their children's education, the organization provides training and dignified employment to women with little to no prior education. Operating under the umbrella of Project Kanavu, Sura (which means "shark" in Tamil) represents the strength and resilience of these women as they challenge the status quo and build sustainable livelihoods for their families.

The organisation specialises in a wide range of eco-friendly and customizable cotton bags, including totes, premium slings, laptop sleeves, and utility pouches. Each product is meticulously crafted by a small team of artisans who use high-quality cotton fabrics and often incorporate upcycled patchwork designs, ensuring that every piece is unique. These durable bags are designed for both functionality and style, with popular items like the "Off to Work" tote featuring laptop padding and spacious pockets for everyday essentials.
